At the congress, nearly 400 specialists from 20 countries discussed the future of cardiovascular surgery.

From May 16 to 18, 2025, the 9th International Congress "Baku Heart Days," dedicated to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, was held at the "Gulustan" Palace under the organization of the Azerbaijan Society of Cardiovascular Surgery.

The main goal of the congress was to support the development of cardiology and cardiovascular surgery in Azerbaijan, strengthen international knowledge exchange, and discuss the latest scientific innovations in the field.

Within the framework of the congress, around 400 renowned cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons from 20 countries came together to exchange views on the most pressing medical topics. The event included live heart surgery broadcasts, specialized training courses for young surgeons, and scientific sessions.

During the congress, the Summit of the Turkic World Society of Cardiovascular Surgeons—established last year in Türkiye—was also held, initiated by the Azerbaijan Society of Cardiovascular Surgery.
